- Administer safe and accurate radiation therapy and ensure accurate data capture.
- Prepare the treatment room, gather set‑up aids, and operate complex radiation‑emitting treatment units.
- Maintain treatment and simulation records, set appropriate unit parameters, and support unit scheduling.
- Monitor patients for reactions, report events to the radiation oncologist, and provide clear communication to patients and families.
- Perform and maintain Quality Assurance activities, including machine QA, record‑keeping, and compliance with QA practices.
- Participate in competency management: maintain clinical skills, attend in‑service training, and complete competency assessments.
- Engage in education and training: orient and teach students/therapists, participate in evaluations, and assist with institutional learning initiatives.
- Graduate of a JRCERT‑accredited Radiation Therapy program or equivalent.
- Certification and registration in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Medical Radiologic Technologist license by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
