Responsibilities
  • The Cardiac Services Technician provides technical services, assists in the Hybrid Room and Operating Room while providing care for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.
  • The Cardiac Services Technician works collaboratively to complete all Cardiac Surgical Technologist assignments.
  • Works under the direct supervision of the assigned clinician for the case, and the Director, to facilitate safe invasive and non-invasive procedures.
  • Performs advanced tasks routinely in support of the surgical team.
  • Arranges sterile setup for surgical procedures, passes instruments, as well as sponge and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.
  • Prepares sterile supplies, assists in cleanup of the operating room, checks placement and the operation of equipment, and checks and restocks the operating room after each procedure.
Qualifications
  • 2‑3 years of experience in a surgery/CV/cardiac hospital setting
  • Lead CST experience is highly preferred.
  • Formal training from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician Program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Tech Certification required.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification required.
