UtHealth Houston Otorhinolaryngology located in the Texas Medical Center is hiring an Audiologist to join their team of professionals. The role involves providing basic audio logic services for prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation to patients with communication deficits due to hearing impairment and related disorders.

Provides basic audio logic services for prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation to patients with communication deficits resulting from hearing impairment and other associated disorders.
Key Accountabilities- Coordinates various phases of clinical audio logic and related research activities.
- Performs audio logic evaluation of pediatric and adult patients suspected of hearing deficits, identifying type and degree of hearing loss.
- Follows up on patients and counsels families to verify use of appropriate self‑care techniques or recommended referral service.
- Assists in the development and administration of quality assurance programs.
- Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations and professional standards.
- Maintains patient records.
- Provides auditory evaluations and education.
- Assists in instruction and demonstration of testing procedures and services to clinic personnel, medical students, and residents.
- Might be required to dispense hearing aids to patients.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation.
- Maintains supplies and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC‑A) by American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) required or
- Audiologist License by Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR) required or must be obtained within two months of initial employment.
Master’s degree in audiology and completion of a Clinical Fellowship/Externship Year (CFY); clinical audiology experience with adults and pediatric patients. Audiology Doctorate (Au.D.) is preferred.
Minimum ExperienceNo experience required.
Physical RequirementsExerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
