Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive analysis of ultrasound images, identifying variances between healthy and atypical areas, and compiling detailed reports for physician review.
- Ensure optimal clarity of diagnostic images by making necessary equipment adjustments to capture the finest details.
- Provide empathetic patient preparation, inclusive of process explanation, positioning for the procedure, and gel application.
- Maintain clear and compassionate communication with patients, ensuring their comfort and ease throughout examinations.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of normal and variant human anatomy and identify any deviations or abnormalities.
- Engage collaboratively with radiologists, offering insight into clinical histories, and modifying scan protocols as needed for enhanced visualization.
- Oversee daily maintenance and functionality of ultrasound equipment, promptly reporting malfunctions.
- Uphold rigorous cleanliness standards within assigned areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
- Support quality assurance efforts, participating monthly with the Director of Ultrasound to maintain high standards of care.
- Maintain inventory and order necessary medical supplies, ensuring resources are consistently available for patient testing.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and Legacy policies, contributing to a secure environment for Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Participate actively in Legacy’s Performance Improvement Program, fostering inclusive and effective team dynamics.
- Associate degree or equivalent, alongside current BLS/CPR certification.
- Completion of both clinical and classroom education meeting the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers criteria.
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers, maintained in good standing.
- Fulfillment of continuing education to sustain certification with the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
- A minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in obstetric/fetal ultrasound.
