Provide advanced clinical pharmacy services in oncology, serving as a resource to the interdisciplinary team and other pharmacists. Deliver innovative practices and service delivery models to achieve cost‑effective and optimal medication management. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, direct patient care, education, and training activities, and serve as preceptor to pharmacy interns, technicians, and ASHP‑accredited residents.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care.
- Perform multidisciplinary rounds and clinical initiatives.
- Provide education to technicians, pharmacists, and other health‑care practitioners.
- Serve as preceptor for pharmacy interns, technicians, and ASHP‑accredited pharmacy residents.
- Support operational and clinical duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.
D. from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Texas Pharmacist License (or eligible for license) – must obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification – required within 90 days of employment.
- ACPE IV Sterile Certification.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification – required (or obtain within 18 months of employment). Maintain national certification.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) – required within 90 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required (inpatient positions). Obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 from an ASHP‑accredited residency program; or PGY1 with 3 years of progressive clinical practice within specialty area.
- Communication:
Above average verbal and written communication skills. - Computer skills:
Proficient in MS Word and PC use. - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Analytical, design, mathematics, medical terminology, research, statistical analysis. - Work schedule may include weekends, holidays, flexible hours, overtime, travel, and on‑call duties.
