Overview
The Fetal Institute Fellowship provides training for recent medical and doctoral graduates in fetal research, including clinical, translational, and basic science. The program is designed to endow junior physicians and researchers with the skills and experience to become leaders in fetal diagnosis and therapy. The fellowship program will provide a wide range of training suitable for those with clinical and/or research backgrounds.
Fellows will be able to tailor their training to suit their needs, whether it be the development of technical skills or strategies to maximize impact to improve the lives of fetuses, mothers, and families.
All fellows will learn from our exemplary team of clinical and research faculty members through a structured curriculum, including hands-on training and independent research. Additionally, fellows will benefit from 6 diverse schools in the UTHealth Houston Campus and the Texas Medical Center broadly. Upon completion of the program, fellows will be well-positioned to apply for employment in clinical, administrative, or research positions in academic, industry, and/or medical settings.
The UTHealth Houston Fetal Intervention Fellowship consists of an initial appointment of 1 year with an expected reappointment for a second year. In exceptional cases, reappointment to a third year may be granted; appointments may not exceed 3 years.

Position SummaryA biomedical postdoc position provides an opportunity for early-career researchers to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their field of expertise.
Position Key Accountabilities- Plans and conducts experiments, analyzes data, and prepares publications describing results.
- Assists in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees.
- Reads and evaluates literature.
- Possesses interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels.
- Has strong written and oral communication skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Doctoral/Terminal Degree
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
