Occupational Therapist, Inpatient (Wed-Sat) - TIRR TMC
Overview

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to assess patients, develop and initiate treatment plans, provide direct patient care, document findings, and support program development and supervision as indicated.
Responsibilities- Assesses patients, develops and initiates treatment plans based on evaluation results to maximize independence in occupational performance areas.
- Provides direct patient care and documents findings, progress, and instruction to patients and caregivers.
- May assist Level II or III occupational therapists and leadership with program development; may provide training/guidance to students, interns, and other staff.
- Supervises assistants and rehabilitation technicians with regards to individual patient care.
- Implements an Occupational Therapy treatment program and demonstrates competency in basic OT skills; monitors progress toward goals and adjusts plans as indicated.
- Motivates and instructs patients/caregivers using appropriate methods; communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies.
- Presents relevant topics in professional literature at clinic meetings or conferences as delegated or requested.
- Manages time effectively and documents in the medical record; completes other documentation duties accurately and efficiently.
- May serve as clinical instructor for OT or OTA interns; ensures safe care and adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and standards.
- Supports professional growth and development; mentors less experienced staff and contributes to department goals.
- Demonstrates commitment to compassionate, personalized care and 서비스를 aligned with service standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor's or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited OT program.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current or temporary license to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. Current certification in Basic Life Support.
- The position requires occasional or frequent lifting up to 75-100 pounds and carrying up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping and squatting.
- Fine hand dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to receive and convey oral and written communication.
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors and observe physical characteristics.
- Assumes responsibility in the care of the patient, performs a complete evaluation, interprets findings, writes a plan of care with goals, and develops a comprehensive program to attain goals.
- Implements an Occupational Therapy treatment program, supervises COTA’s and Rehab Technicians, monitors progress, and adjusts goals/plans as needed.
- Communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies.
- Presents topics in professional settings as delegated or requested.
- Manages time effectively; documents appropriately in the medical record and completes other documentation duties.
- May serve as clinical instructor for OT/OTA interns; ensures safe care and adheres to policies and budgetary constraints.
- Promotes professional growth, supports department goals, and serves as a preceptor/mentor when applicable.
- Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
