Position: Rehabilitation Assistant (Tomball)

Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) I – Sr RA

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), a Family Friendly Certified Workplace, is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Vocational Rehabilitation Department located at 17725 Tomball Pkwy., Tomball, TX. The position requires a Texas resident or a willingness to relocate to Texas. TWC does not consider applications that require visa sponsorship.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide basic information regarding VR programs, services, and referral opportunities to customers and vendors.
  • Assist VR counselors with certification of eligibility and service delivery tasks using the electronic case‑management system.
  • Collect information for intake and profile processes.
  • Maintain accurate business relationships with providers, businesses, customers, and staff.
  • Prepare and review reports for accuracy of monitored services.
  • Participate in Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) training.
  • Provide information regarding Texas Workforce Solutions (TWS)/VRS program requirements to applicants, families, vendors, and the general public.
  • Furnish case assistance to VR counselors, including initial screening for individuals applying for VRS service programs.
  • Perform other related work as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Eighteen (18) months experience in office practices and office support work utilizing a personal computer in a Windows‑based environment.
  • Experience in purchasing procedures, case guidelines, regulations and policies, and case‑management support functions.
  • Knowledge of community and government service delivery systems, mental illness, and emotional components of physical illness.
  • Ability to interpret highly complex policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality, and analyze complex financial data.
  • Skill in interviewing and conducting individual needs assessments.
  • Related work experience at all levels as defined as case‑management support, purchasing and general knowledge of disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • RA I:
    One year of full‑time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field and graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Thirty (30) semester hours in human services, social science, business, or a related field may be substituted for experience.
  • RA II:
    Graduation Crist from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework plus one year and six months of full‑time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field. One additional पसंद year of full‑time qualifying experience may be  for each year (30 semester hours) of required education.
  • RA III:
    Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework plus two years of full‑time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field. One additional year of full‑time qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of required education.
  • Sr. RA:
    Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework plus two years and six months of full‑time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business or a related field. One year of full‑time experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education.
Work Hours and Travel

The position may involve working hours outside 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday and requires approximately 10% travel, including some overnight stays. Travel method is the employee’s responsibility.
