Solaris Logistics Solutions segment (SLS) – designs and manufactures specialized equipment that enables the efficient management of raw materials used in the completion of oil and natural gas wells. Solaris’ equipment-based logistics services include field technician support, software solutions and may include last mile and mobilization services.

About the Opportunity

Solaris is seeking a strategic and experienced Segment Controller, SLS to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the EVP & General Manager, SLS segment to provide financial leadership, drive cost control initiatives, support strategic decision-making and ensure high-quality segment financial reporting. Your focus will be on optimizing performance in a market-leading position with emphasis on cost discipline, variance analysis, maintaining sound internal controls and contributing to both internal management and external SEC reporting.

Functions
  • Financial Close and Reporting
    :
    Oversee and review the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the segment; prepare and deliver the segment's monthly management package, including detailed actual-to-forecast comparisons, variance explanations, and performance metrics to support executive review.
  • Cost Control and Optimization: Partner with segment leadership to drive rigorous cost controlling activities; identify opportunities for efficiency gains, monitor spending trends, and implement measures to maintain strong margins in a stable, market-share-focused environment.
  • Strategic Financial Support: Act as the trusted financial advisor to the segment leadership; provide insightful analysis on operational performance, pricing, capital allocation, and strategic initiatives to inform business decisions and enhance profitability.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis: Lead the preparation of segment budgets, forecasts, and rolling outlooks; conduct in-depth analyses of financial results, trends, and key drivers to support proactive management.
  • SEC and External Reporting Support: Collaborate on the preparation and review of segment-level information for consolidated SEC filings (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K), ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and alignment with corporate disclosure requirements.
  • Internal Control and Compliance: Maintain and enhance effective internal controls over financial reporting for the segment; ensure processes support reliable reporting and audit readiness.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate segment-related audit requests with external and internal auditors; prepare supporting schedules and respond to inquiries to facilitate efficient audit processes.

    Perform other duties as required to support the Accounting Department, contributing to overall departmental success.

Experience/Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in management.
