Controller - Construction Industry

The Controller will take full ownership of the financial function, improve controls, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and oversee all accounting operations across multiple entities. This individual must be strong in construction accounting, WIP schedules, and multi‑entity financial management. This is a hands‑on, onsite leadership role working closely with ownership.

• Lead and manage all accounting and financial operations across multiple entities.
• Ensure timely and accurate bill payment, financial reporting, and month‑end close.
• Oversee construction accounting, including WIP, job costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Manage intercompany allocations, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting.
• Improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and create structure and discipline.
• Provide financial insight and recommendations to ownership to support business decisions.
• Oversee accounting department.
• Manage relationships with outside partners including banks, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Support strategic planning, cash flow management, and long‑term financial forecasting.
• Serve as a trusted partner to owner and participate in leadership meetings.

• Construction industry experience REQUIRED
• Open to candidates from GCs or subcontractors.
• Strong experience with construction financials and WIP reporting.
• Proven experience managing multi‑entity accounting and intercompany transactions.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to implement structure and process.
• Experience with job costing, project‑based financials, and construction operations.
• Ability to manage and mentor an accounting team.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• CPA is a plus.
