Brief Description
Consolidated Asset Management Services (“CAMS”) is seeking to hire a Senior Accounting Associate. This position requires a wide variety of duties including month end close and financial reporting. The successful candidate will have four to seven years of accounting experience.
CAMS provides quality, competitively priced project, and asset management, commercial and operations services to the power generation, E&P, and midstream sectors of the energy industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Day to day accounting, to include journal entry preparation, monthly closings, and monthly account reconciliations.
- Analyze and review operations and maintenance expenditures.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation.
- Prepare account and financial statement analysis using thorough analytical techniques.
- Support timely and accurate financial reporting to owners and other third parties.
- Handle aspects of servicing debt on a monthly or quarterly basis, including preparation of monthly ‘waterfall’ certificates.
- Assist in preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts with power plant operations staff and commercial teams.
- Prepare comprehensive work papers for outside auditors as reasonably required.
- Provide supporting documentation for outside tax consultants.
- Support commercial teams and power plant operations staff with financial models, contract compliance and day to day operations.
- Maintain a strong system of internal accounting controls.
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum 3-4 years of accounting experience
- Sound analytical skills to compile as well as dissect and interpret financial and operational information.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; must be a self-starter and take the initiative in completing projects and assignments.
- Customer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work with internal and external resources.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Public accounting experience in audit is a plus
