We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Manager to join our growing team in our Clear Lake Office. This individual will be responsible for overseeing tax engagements, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns prepared by staff.
- Provide technical tax expertise and ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Plan and manage multiple tax engagements to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Research complex tax issues and provide well-supported recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and strategies to minimize client liabilities.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff, providing guidance on technical and professional development.
- Collaborate with partners and other managers to improve processes and support firm initiatives.
- CPA Certification and/or other relevant license in area of concentration.
- 5 or more years of recent tax experience in public accounting.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing staff.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software (CCH Axcess Tax and related platforms preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
