Join us for this incredible opportunity to be part of our team as an Area Chief Accountant Full‑Time supporting Hyatt Regency Houston‑Downtown located in Houston, TX and, as needed, support the Hyatt Centric the Woodlands located in The Woodlands, TX.
The Chief Accountant plays a key role in overseeing the financial operations of both hotels, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Hyatt’s financial policies, and support for strategic decision‑making. This position is responsible for maintaining financial controls, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and working closely with the Area Director of Finance to optimize the hotel’s financial performance.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Hyatt policies and local financial regulations.
- Assist in variance analysis to support strategic financial planning.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely closing of accounts.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Oversee Olympia/Productivity function for Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and Hyatt’s financial policies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing necessary financial documentation.
- Maintain proper financial records and ensure adherence to internal controls.
- Work closely with department heads to provide financial insights and support in decision‑making.
- Monitor cash flow, revenue, and expenses to maintain financial stability.
- Identify areas for cost savings and operational efficiencies without compromising service quality.
- Assist the team with month‑end closing and ensuring financial success of both properties.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred).
- Minimum 3‑5 years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of hotel financial systems (e.g., Opera, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
