Financial Controller

AMiche Talent Connect LLC is a minority- and women-owned boutique recruitment firm committed to empowering businesses through strategic talent acquisition. We are partnering with a fasting-growing residential land development firm in Houston, TXto hire a hands-on, experienced Financial Controller ready to lead accounting operations and support strategic growth.

This role reports directly to the CFO and will oversee daily accounting, multi-entity financial reporting, project/job-cost tracking, lender reporting, and internal controls across active development projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong financial processes, working across multiple projects and entities, and serving as a trusted thought partner to the CFO.

You’ll play an active role in the details while also helping guide financial strategy and operational decisions.

• Own the full accounting function, from monthly close and reconciliations to clean, reliable financial reporting
• Lead and mentor a small accounting team while staying actively involved in execution
• Manage financials across multiple entities, joint ventures, and development projects
• Track project-level performance including development costs, lot inventory, budgets, and cash flow
• Prepare lender and investor reporting, including construction draw packages and loan tracking
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures in coordination with external CPAs
• Partner with the CFO to deliver meaningful insights that support growth and capital decisions

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA a plus, not required)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in real estate development, construction, or related industries
• Strong command of project-based accounting, cost capitalization, and multi-entity structures
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working within accounting systems
• Proven ability to manage people and stay hands-on with the work
