Our client is a leading commodities and energy trading firm who are looking for a Quantitative Analyst with strong experience in power markets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain quantitative models to support trading and risk strategies in power markets.
- Conduct data analysis, statistical modelling, and scenario testing to inform market decisions.
- Work with large datasets using Python and other analytics tools.
- Analyse market dynamics, price formation, congestion, and regulatory impacts in ERCOT and PJM.
- Collaborate closely with trading, operations, and risk teams to deliver actionable insights.
- Automate reporting, data pipelines, and analytics workflows to improve efficiency.
- 5+ years of experience as a quantitative analyst, preferably in energy/power markets.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, modelling, and automation.
- Deep understanding of ERCOT and PJM market structures, products, and dynamics.
- Heavy focus on time-series forecasting and power market modelling.
- Solid quantitative background (statistics, econometrics, forecasting methods, etc)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
