Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Overview

• The Controller is the senior leader fully responsible for all accounting operations —including financial reporting, general ledger integrity, month‑end close, accounts payable, payroll oversight, tax and audit management, internal controls, and compliance.
• This role also supports the CFO with 25–30% finance responsibilities, including budgeting support, financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and strategic project evaluation.
• This position requires a proactive, analytical leader with strong critical thinking skills who anticipates problems, identifies risks, and develops solutions before issues arise.
• The Controller ensures accuracy, transparency, and operational excellence across the finance organization.

• Full ownership of accounting operations.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end financial close.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and reporting packages.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy, account reconciliations, and asset ledgers.
• Oversee accounts payable, expense management, and payroll oversight in partnership with HR.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
• Manage external audits, tax filings, banking relationships, and regulatory filings.
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies and standardized procedures.
• Drive automation, system improvements, and enhancements to accounting processes.

• Support CFO with financial analysis, scenario modeling, and business case development.
• Assist in treasury functions, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning.
• Support development of annual budgets and forecasting cycles.
• Provide variance analysis, trend insights, and forward‑looking recommendations.
• Support evaluation of capital investments, large projects, and business initiatives.

• Partner with IT to optimize accounting systems and ensure reliable data flow.
• Lead or support ERP transitions, BI dashboards, and workflow automation.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that improve accuracy and speed.
• Ensure technology and data processes align with accounting and operational requirements.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, setting clear expectations for accuracy and accountability.
• Foster a proactive, high‑performing, solutions‑oriented finance culture.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
• Partner cross‑functionally with HR, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and other departments.
• Ensure the team upholds professionalism, integrity, and continuous improvement.

• CPA required; MBA or advanced accounting/finance degree preferred.
• 10+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, including 5+ years in leadership.
• Strong GAAP expertise with experience in multi‑entity accounting and consolidations.
• Proven success managing audits, internal controls, and compliance processes.
• Experience implementing ERP systems, BI reporting tools, and process automation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret financial data into actionable business insights.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
