SUMMARY:
The Credit Risk Analyst I is responsible for the administration and performance of tasks related to the mitigation of counter party risk in the Risk Management department. This position is responsible for adhering to MEMS' Risk Management policy, practices and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate and manage daily credit risk exposure through update of Daily Credit Risk Report.
- Manage daily margin collateral and margin to mitigate credit risk.
- Set up credit lines in Allegro and actively monitor credit limits in ICE trading platform.
- Update monthly internal credit reporting to senior management
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of clients with energy supply agreements.
- Review and analyze customers billed, unbilled, and unmetered receivables.
- Review and analyze customers lockbox bank account
- Monitor collateral facility requirements
- Monitor and provide updated daily A/P to MEMS
- Review ISO invoices and ensure payments are paid/received by ISO
- Review and analyze hedge ratios and ensure customer is within compliance.
- Report noncompliance of covenants
- On a quarterly basis, evaluate parental guarantee fees and assist in the credit reserve calculation.
- Record trade entry errors for KPI monitoring.
- Perform filing and scanning duties.
- Identify and communicate key risks or failures. Recommend ways to control or reduce risk.
- Assist with other Risk Management activities as needed.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, to work in a fast-paced trading environment and meet deadlines.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Detail-oriented mindset with ability to spot anomalies and inconsistencies
- Exceptional analytical skills, including data interpretation and data reconciliation skills.
- Tenacity in problem-solving-ability to dig deep, explore alternatives, and find solutions.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, or related field preferred or equivalent related work experience.
- 2-3 years in a trading or related environment in a support position preferred.
- Knowledge and/or experience working in Middle/Back office for an energy trading company is preferred.
- Fluent verbal and written skills in English.
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Physical demands include:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and may need to routinely move around to communicate with different groups
