Position Summary

The Senior Financial Accountant will serve a dual role within the organization. Initially, this position will cover senior accounting responsibilities during a maternity leave in the accounting department, handling month-end close, reconciliations, and managing AP/AR across multiple entities. As the role evolves, the focus will shift to financial analysis, reporting, and supporting system/software evaluations, including PyPlan. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting expertise who also enjoys working with large datasets, Excel, Power BI, and potentially AI or Python tools to drive better reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and AP/AR for multiple entities
• Cover senior accounting/assistant controller duties during maternity leave
• Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports to support business decisions
• Assist with the evaluation, implementation, and use of new financial systems/software (e.g., PyPlan)
• Utilize Excel, Power BI, and other data tools to manage and analyze large datasets
• Explore and apply AI or Python solutions to enhance reporting and financial workflows
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting processes and reporting accuracy
• Maintain precise financial documentation with strong attention to detail

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and multi-entity management
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with financial system implementation or upgrades is a plus
• Knowledge of Python is highly desirable

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Power BI or similar reporting tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
• Ability to transition between accounting and financial analysis duties seamlessly
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $90,000 – $115,000, depending on experience
• Onsite position, Monday–Friday, flexible hours (7:00–4:00, 7:30–4:30, or 8:00–5:00)
