Company Overview

A high-growth, national operating platform is seeking a Regional Controller to join its expanding finance leadership team. The company operates a diversified, acquisition-driven business with multiple operating entities and a strong focus on operational excellence, scalability, and disciplined financial management.

This is an environment where accounting leadership matters. The organization values hands‑on controllers who can bring structure to complexity, partner closely with operations, and help scale processes as the business continues to grow.

The Opportunity

The Regional Controller will act as the senior accounting leader for a group of operating entities, owning financial reporting, close, and compliance while serving as a trusted partner to both corporate finance and local leadership.

This role offers meaningful scope and visibility. The right person will be deeply involved in the day‑to‑day accounting while also influencing how the business operates and scales. It is ideal for a CPA who enjoys ownership, accountability, and working close to the business rather than sitting purely at a corporate level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own all accounting and financial reporting for assigned operating entities
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in alignment with corporate timelines
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and key accounting schedules
  • Ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and documentation
  • Partner with corporate audit and compliance teams on testing, remediation, and audit readiness
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to drive consistency and scalability
  • Lead, mentor, and develop local accounting teams across AP, AR, and GL
  • Act as a finance partner to operational leadership, providing insight into performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis with FP&A
  • Coordinate with tax and external auditors on entity-level requirements
What They Are Looking For
  • Active CPA
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility in multi-entity environments
  • Strong technical accounting foundation and command of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience owning close and reporting for operating entities
  • Working knowledge of internal controls and compliance frameworks
  • Hands‑on ERP experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
  • Confident communicator who can partner with both finance and operations
  • High ownership mindset with strong attention to detail
Why This Role Stands Out
  • True controllership ownership with direct impact on the business
  • Exposure to a complex, growing organization with ongoing acquisitions
  • Opportunity to influence how accounting is done, not just maintain it
  • Strong compensation package with equity upside
  • Visible role with meaningful partnership across leadership and operations
  • Clear runway for growth within a scaling finance organization
  • Industry experience within distribution, manufacturing, food, agriculture, or logistics environments strongly preferred
