Controller, Finance & Banking, CFO

Our client is a leading IPP headquartered in Houston, TX. Backed by one of the largest owners of renewable power, they're in a prime position in the market. They're looking for a controller to oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting, lead a team, and work hand‑in‑hand with the CFO on strategic planning.

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other relevant standards.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial records and reports.
• Develop internal reports for executive leadership to support strategic decision‑making.
• Supervise all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Ensure timely and accurate month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, promoting professional development.
• Delegate responsibilities effectively and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Act as a key advisor to the CFO or senior leadership on financial matters.
• Participate in strategic planning initiatives and contribute financial insights to business decisions.
• Support M&A, fundraising, or other corporate development activities, as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and 7-10+ years of related experience
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• CPA required
• Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
