Overview

Controller / Accounting Manager – Manufacturing

Located in Houston Heights

Need a hands-on Controller to lead the full financial operations of our growing manufacturing company.

• Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, payroll coordination, fixed assets, and revenue recognition
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Prepare and deliver financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy of financial records
• Supervise and support Bookkeeper

• Lead annual budget and forecasting processes
• Monitor expenses and provide variance analysis
• Identify cost drivers and recommend savings initiatives
• Support pricing and capital investment decisions

• Oversee inventory accounting (RM, WIP, Finished Goods)
• Manage product costing, labor, and overhead absorption
• Monitor inventory valuation, obsolescence, and physical counts
• Partner with Operations on production cost analysis

• Manage banking relationships, cash flow, and credit lines
• Coordinate tax filings and external audits
• Oversee insurance programs and risk management
• Support employee benefits financial administration

• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
• Improve systems, reporting, and workflows
• Support continuous improvement and ISO quality standards

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 5–10+ years progressive accounting experience
• Manufacturing / cost accounting required
• Experience in small to mid-sized, hands-on environments
• ERP systems and advanced Excel proficiency
• Strong financial analysis and communication skills
• Exposure to production environment

Compensation: $160,000
