Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role will focus on supporting post-implementation financial processes, including customer refunds, with exceptional precision and attention to detail. The successful candidate will work remotely following an initial onboarding session and contribute to maintaining high standards in accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

- Process customer refunds with accuracy and ensure compliance with established protocols.

- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions efficiently.

- Perform detailed account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

- Handle billing tasks and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Utilize strong Excel skills to analyze data and support financial reporting.

- Collaborate with team members to streamline manual processes and improve workflows.

- Ensure all financial transactions are completed with zero margin for error.

- Assist in adapting to new systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency.

- Maintain organized records and documentation for audit readiness.

- Provide prompt and thorough responses to inquiries related to financial transactions. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting functions, including AP, AR, and account reconciliation.

- Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex financial processes.

- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

- Experience handling post-implementation financial tasks, such as customer refunds.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

- Familiarity with manual accounting processes, including printing checks.

- Previous exposure to Workday or similar systems is preferred but not required.
