Dagen is recruiting an Associate, Construction Finance for a growing LNG client located in Downtown Houston. This is a full-time, in-office position supporting large-scale, multi-billion-dollar capital projects.
The Associate will support the Construction Finance team with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams and present financial insights to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide financial management support for assigned business area(s)
Develop initial project budgets and maintain forecast updates
Track and report actuals, including variance and trend analysis
Support liquidity and change management activities
Review contracts and assess supplier risk
Assist with accounting treatments and financial controls
Prepare executive-level presentations on financial performance
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Support external reporting requirements
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as requested
Partner with project controls, construction, engineering, development, and accounting leaders to gather data and align financial objectives
Drive continuous process improvement, including streamlining financial processes, enhancing reporting tools, and building financial models
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
2–3 years of experience in Finance, Cost Engineering, Project Controls, Accounting, or a related discipline
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and manage ambiguity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for executive audiences
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate effectively
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling
Willingness to work in-office daily
Ability to travel occasionally to construction sites or the Arlington office
