We’re partnering with a client seeking a seasoned Controller to provide steady, hands-on financial leadership during a period of transition. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly step in, take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, and ensure continuity, accuracy, and stability.

What You’ll Be Responsible For as the Controller:

• Direct month-end and quarter-end close processes, delivering timely and accurate financial statements and reconciliations

• Lead and support a small accounting team to ensure smooth daily operations

• Oversee complex accounting areas such as grants, contracts, or project-based funding, including compliance and reporting requirements as applicable

• Collaborate with department leaders on budgeting, financial performance tracking, and strategic decision support

• Prepare clear financial analyses and summaries that explain results, highlight variances, and support executive reporting

• Evaluate and enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy

What We’re Looking For in the Controller:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership over month-end close and financial reporting

• Deep understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and internal controls

• Proven ability to lead teams and partner effectively across departments

• Ability to step in quickly, work independently, and deliver immediate value
