** Position Summary
** Conducts sales and use tax reviews for DMA clients and provides other state and local tax consulting services. Participates in business development efforts. Has account management responsibility for assigned clients.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Reviews client records for sales and use tax refund potential, credits, deficiency assessments, and procedural recommendations
* Prepares written reports supporting DMA’s position for State taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings for clients
* Works with State tax officials to achieve maximum tax savings
* Participates in business development efforts
* Responsible for client account management on assigned clients
* Updates work-in-process reports
* Represents clients during audits and in hearings with state taxing authorities
* Conducts on-site inspection of client plants and operations
* Manages, coordinates, and reviews activities of Tax Analysts and Sr. Tax Consultants
* Maintains excellent knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and court decisions
* Researches more complex tax issues
* Assist Director, National Accounts and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients
** Education and Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics, or related field
* 7-10 years’ experience in sales/use tax consulting
* Texas auditor experience a plus
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
* Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and possess exceptional attention to detail
* Organizational and interpersonal skills required
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to meet travel requirements
* Valid driver’s license required
