Gas Credit Analyst – Natural Gas Trading | Oil & Gas
Our client is seeking an experienced Gas Credit Analyst II to support daily credit operations within a fast‑paced natural gas marketing and trading environment. This role is ideal for a credit professional with strong oil & gas finance experience, hands‑on exposure to trading workflows, and familiarity with key industry tools such as ICE, Paragon, Endure, Experion, S&P IQ, and Moodys.
You’ll work closely with traders, schedulers, commercial teams, and credit leadership to monitor exposures, review counter party creditworthiness, and support real‑time trading decisions. Power BI experience is a strong differentiator.
Contract Duration: 3 months | Potential extension to 6 months (temp‑to‑perm opportunity for the right fit)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30AM–4:30PM
Travel: Occasional travel to Tulsa (approx. 2x/year)
Responsibilities:
Credit Risk & Counter party Analysis
- Make informed credit limit decisions and resolve complex credit issues.
- Issue letters of credit and guarantees in accordance with internal policies.
- Review counter party credit terms and provide recommendations aligned with company guidelines.
- Evaluate financial statements, creditworthiness, and exposure levels across gas marketing and trading activities.
Trading & Commercial Support
- Support natural gas traders with daily limit checks, exposure monitoring, and workflow coordination.
- Utilize the ICE trading platform to understand trade activity, limits, and risk impacts.
- Assist with contract reviews and credit‑related components of commercial agreements.
Reporting & Analytics
- Monitor credit exposures and identify trends or risks.
- Produce daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual credit activity reports.
- Use Power BI (strongly preferred) to enhance reporting, dashboards, and data visualization.
- Mentor junior team members as needed.
- Build strong relationships with traders, schedulers, commercial teams, and external counter parties.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide clear, timely credit‑related guidance.
Tools & Systems
- Maintain accurate credit records, documentation, and system updates.
- Work with Paragon, Endure, Experion, S&P IQ, Moodys, and other industry platforms.
Qualifications/Must Haves:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work occasional approved overtime when needed.
- Familiarity with Paragon, Endure, Experion, S&P IQ, Moodys.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance environment.
- Hands‑on experience or strong exposure to natural gas trading operations.
- Minimum 5 years oil & gas experience, ideally in gas marketing, trading, or midstream finance.
- Working knowledge of the ICE trading platform (daily usage by traders; ability to support limits and workflows).
- Onsite corporate office environment.
- Fast‑paced, trading‑aligned workflow requires accuracy and responsiveness.
