About the Role
The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial planning, accounting, reporting, and risk management.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the company’s senior financial strategist and advisor to the CEO and executive team.
• Direct all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
• Oversee financial reporting, accounting, internal controls, compliance, and audits to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.
• Provide timely, insightful financial information to leadership, identifying key business drivers and trends.
• Manage all banking and treasury functions, including cash flow, and capital allocation.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, tax advisors, and regulators.
• Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team to strengthen capabilities and ensure operational excellence.
• Lead automation and scalability initiatives across financial operations to enable growth.
• Monitor and mitigate financial risks; ensure strong internal control systems are in place and functioning effectively.
• Support due diligence, financial modeling, and integration for potential acquisitions opportunities.
• Ability to manage many reporting entities.
• Oversee tax strategy and compliance, coordinating closely with external CPA firm for preparation and filing of complex tax returns in accordance with state and federal law.
• Other duties as assigned to support broader the accounting team initiatives.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years in banking, mortgage lending, real estate, or consumer finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and financial analysis.
• Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing finance and accounting teams.
• Strong track record in improving financial systems, operational processes, and internal controls.
• Experience in partnering with CEOs and boards to drive strategic and financial goals.
• Prior experience in consumer lending, banking and or mortgage servicing.
• Experience with very successful entrepreneurs and/or family business.
