Position: Fixed Asset Accountant Senior

Overview

Responsible for providing a high level of customer service and analysis for fixed asset activity, including but not limited to, depreciation, asset retirement, capitalization, transactions in accordance with corporate policies, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the timely processing of fixed asset adjustments, retirements and transfers for assigned Business Units.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger to Fixed Asset sub ledger reconciliations in Hyperion for assigned Business Units. Proactively research and follow through, as necessary to clear variances.
  • Prepare monthly Fixed Asset gain/loss reconciliations for assigned Business Units.
  • Responsible for maintaining Fixed Asset department Open AFE accrual Access database and posting of monthly Open AFE/New Rig depreciation accruals for assigned Business Units.
  • Performs a quality, in depth, month-over-month depreciation expense analysis each month.
  • Responsible for maintaining Oracle Cost Center table transactions for assigned Business Units.
  • Responsible for reconciling fixed asset sub ledger to asset tracking system for assigned Business Units.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree.
  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including research and analysis of balance sheet accounts and preparation of reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP data query skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA a plus.
  • CPA a plus.
  • Drilling/Oilfield service industry experience.
  • Oracle Fixed Asset and General Ledger experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
