Sales and Use Tax Senior Associate

The Sales and Use Tax Senior will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of our clients’ sales and use tax audits, general consulting, tax planning strategies, and compliance, including filing returns. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, excellent analytical skills, and thorough knowledge of state and local tax laws. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

The candidate will work directly with the department's lead, providing opportunities for professional growth within a rapidly expanding team while engaging closely with clients. Candidates will gain exposure to professional development through both internal and external training opportunities.

• Assisting in the management of sales and use tax audits, including gathering documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and negotiating settlements.
• Conducting research on complex sales and use tax issues and providing guidance on tax implications to clients.
• Handling the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitoring changes in tax legislation and staying informed on current market trends to uphold your reputation as a reliable advisor.
• Understanding clients' business activities and fostering strong relationships to provide personalized advice tailored to their unique needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in sales and use tax, preferably including a senior role.
• In-depth knowledge of state and local sales and use tax regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Proficient in tax research tools.

• An achieved or partially achieved CPA or CMI qualification or the ability to sit for the bar, or actively working toward one of the three.
• Proficiency in Alteryx, Power BI, and/or other data manipulation and transformation software.
