Youth Work Ireland North Connaught – Board of Directors
Purpose of the RoleTo support the Board in providing strong financial oversight, ensuring the organisation’s sustainability, compliance, and effective use of resources.
Key Responsibilities- Advise the Board on budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and overall financial strategy.
- Review financial reports and highlight risks, trends, and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with the Charities Governance Code, funding requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Support the annual audit and review of financial policies, controls, and procedures.
- Contribute to risk management, including reserves and cashflow planning.
- Participate in Board and relevant committee meetings and work collaboratively with trustees and the CEO/Manager.
- Professional background in finance, accounting, audit, or similar.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and risk management.
- Commitment to good governance, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and strategic insight to support youth work in the region.
