Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Risk Analyst to join a fast‑growing commodities trading organization. This role sits directly on the trading floor and supports a dynamic, high‑performance environment. • Generate, validate, and distribute daily PandL and exposure reports across multiple commodities, including crude oil, gasoline, distillates, fuel oil, renewables, and NGLs.
• Analyze daily PandL movements and provide clear commentary explaining key drivers, market movements, and risk impacts.
• Ensure accurate trade capture and representation within risk systems.
• Partner with Front Office, Operations, and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Validate forward curves, pricing inputs, and valuation assumptions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Work closely with Trading, Scheduling, Accounting, FPandA, and Risk teams to support timely reporting and issue resolution.
• Lead and support initiatives to standardise, streamline, and automate reporting processes.
• Contribute to enhancements of risk systems, dashboards, and analytical tools.
• Support compliance with internal control frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Provide backup coverage across regions or product lines; mentor and support junior analysts to promote knowledge sharing and team development.
• Partner with FPandA to ensure mark‑to‑market PandL aligns with GAAP standards used for external financial reporting.

• Proven Risk Analyst experience within oil and gas commodities.
• Strong understanding of commodity trading environments and exposure to multiple risk functions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, trading‑floor environment.
• Highly analytical mindset with strong numerical aptitude.

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP required).
• Hands‑on experience with ETRM systems such as Right Angle, Allegro, Endur, Open Link, SAP, or FIS.
• Familiarity with Power BI;
  Python or SQL experience is a plus.

• Commodity markets and trading instruments.
• Trade lifecycle and settlement processes.
• Risk measurement and valuation methodologies.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex risk concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high‑pressure environment.
