Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) is looking for a Vice President – Tax Insurance Broking. As part of an industry‑leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by supporting the tax insurance efforts of Aon across North America.
The qualified candidate can work in one of the following locations:
New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, or Houston offices.
Aon is the leading broker of tax insurance in North America. The tax team is part of AMATS and is staffed primarily by former practicing tax lawyers. Tax insurance is actively used to facilitate M&A transactions, tax credit investments, and corporate risk‑management. There is a significant opportunity to broaden the use of tax insurance throughout the U.S. and North America.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, highly motivated, and capable of contributing to the growth of this fast‑growing business. The position is at the VP level and will involve travel to support producers and sales efforts, and to visit clients.
Job Responsibilities- Structuring and placing tax insurance programs on behalf of Aon’s clients.
- Supporting the production efforts of Aon’s retail producers and account executives.
- Attending important tax‑related conferences to promote Aon’s tax insurance team and the overall M&A and Transaction Solutions business.
Candidates should have a strong background in U.S. federal income taxation and significant experience with general U.S. tax law, assessments, and the tax ramifications of business transactions. M&A‑related and/or tax litigation experience is considered a benefit, though not required.
- Tax lawyer or tax accountant with significant experience practicing tax law.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, specifically client‑facing practice of tax law and proven ability to develop tax‑related business.
- Good network among the legal and business community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of self‑direction and sound judgment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Pay Transparency LawsThe salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000 to $250,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The bonus amount varies and is subject to the plan’s terms and conditions.
