Trade Settlement AnalystThe Trade Settlement Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of operational transactions. This role involves daily interaction with counter parties, brokers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, mitigate settlement risks, and maintain operational efficiency. The analyst plays a key part in supporting trade lifecycle processes, regulatory requirements, and operational controls. This role will support the operations team with all settlements for International & US Domestic trades.
Responsibilities- Check physical confirmations from counter parties/brokers and make sure the information is in line with our system, and inform operators and traders of any discrepancies.
- Review daily settlement report and arrange payable and receivable accordingly.
- Work closely with the traders to develop an understanding of the market and related counter parties, grades, market movements, and instruments.
- Obtain an understanding of the Operations team to enable a better interface between the operations team and trading departments.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the market, support Traders and Operators in preparing internal reports, filing documents, and audits.
- Review the internal system to ensure all information is aligned with third-party data.
- Prepare daily and monthly payment planning for the finance department.
- Accountable for confirming Receivables & Payables promptly.
- Prepare and communicate payment instruction documentation to the operations team for delivery to various counter parties and customers; scan, send, and save the documents internally per the company's accounting and compliance process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in settlements and the trading environment is preferred.
- Ideally, candidates will have completed an internship in a similar role.
- A strong interest in and willingness to learn about the oil trading environment is essential.
- Must be a quick learner, eager to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both internally and externally.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are important.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
