Associate, Global Investment Banking

* Undergraduate degree in Math, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related discipline
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience
* Previous investment banking or corporate finance experience, combined with other relevant corporate finance training
* Extremely dedicated and motivated individual with high career aspirations. Must be capable of assuming significant levels of responsibility for assignments to be completed within short time frames
* Excellent analytical ability including demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques and practices, including cash-flow analysis
* Strong technical, computational and quantitative skills
* Strong interest in and knowledge of financial markets and the energy or energy infrastructure sectors
* Excellent understanding of financial statements, credit analysis and accounting principles
* Knowledge of accounting principles relating to financial statement preparation and business combinations
* Proven ability to pay close attention to detail and multi-task under tight deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
* Well-developed organizational skills in order to respond to shifting priorities on several simultaneous projects
* Demonstrated job commitment including a willingness to work, as well as personal flexibility and adaptability in order to meet client deliverables and timelines
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills in order to convey factual and conceptual information to others and promote the interests of CIBC Capital Markets
