Project Accountant

Seven Seas Water Group (SSWG) is a portfolio company owned by EQT, headquartered in Tampa with operations across the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America. SSWG delivers annually over 20 billion gallons of water to industrial, commercial, governmental, municipal, and hospitality customers through its Water-as-a-Service® approach.

SSWG operates two businesses:
Seven Seas Water, which provides water treatment and desalination for governmental, hospitality, and industrial customers, and the AUC Group, which provides decentralized water and wastewater treatment plants for industrial and municipal customers.

• Monitor and track capital project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts.
• Prepare and analyze monthly project financial reports, including variance analyses and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to ensure proper cost coding and alignment with budgets.
• Reconcile project expenditures against contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Ensure timely and accurate capitalization of assets in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
• Support internal and external audits related to capital projects and fixed assets.
• Assist in preparing cash flow projections and funding requirements for ongoing projects.
• Maintain accurate project-related financial documentation in the ERP system.
• Provide regular updates to management on project accounting and newly entered contracts.
• Identify and report project cost overruns or risks, and significant savings opportunities.
• Assist with maintaining the internal control framework around projects.
• Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements and financial controls related to project accounting.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Integrity and commitment to maintaining financial compliance and controls.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, notably ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems; IFS experience a plus.
• Well organized with ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
• Spanish speaker a plus.
• Minimal travel as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1 year in project accounting or in a capital‑intensive industry.
• Strong understanding of capital expenditure accounting, cost control, and asset capitalization.
• Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of project management principles and cost control methodologies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
