. Dean & Draper Houston location is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Risk Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the ongoing stewardship of our key accounts while evaluating potential risks associated with our clients’ businesses by collecting and analyzing data on their specific circumstances, using this information to identify areas for risk mitigation and contributing to the overall profitability of the insurance company by minimizing losses.
- Risk Assessment:
Utilize statistical models and industry knowledge to evaluate the likelihood and potential severity of claims based on the collected data. - Risk Mitigation Strategies:
Identify potential risk factors and suggest preventative measures to clients to reduce their risk profile. - Claims Analysis:
Review past claims data to identify trends and patterns, informing future risk assessments and underwriting practices. Engage with insurance carriers to investigate and analyze large, open claims activity and provide feedback for clients, production and service teams. - Reporting and Documentation:
Generate detailed reports outlining risk assessments, rationale for pricing decisions, and recommendations for managing risk. - Industry Trend Monitoring:
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks to adapt risk assessment methodologies.
- Assist in providing benchmarking data utilizing insurance data, i.e., premiums, limits, retentions, limit adequacy, and rates to internal and external partners.
- Present risk reports to Sales/Marketing and Commercial Lines team.
- Oversee the D&D Stewardship Program for our key accounts through the completion of stewardship tasks.
- Analytical – Must be able to quickly analyze a large collection of data, then create reports and determine results.
- Decision making – The ability to quickly analyze data and make a decision.
- Project management – The ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Insurance, or related field required.
- CIC or CRM designation preferred.
- At least one year of related experience preferred.
- Must have all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance to discuss and/or sell insurance in states where the agency functions.
- Ability to use a computer & calculator.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
