Job DescriptionBDO’s Asset Management and Private Equity Funds practice is a dynamic and rapidly growing practice nationwide, focused specifically on private equity funds, venture capital funds, fund of funds, small business investment companies (SBICs), business development companies (BDCs), real estate funds, and other alternative investment vehicles.
Job Duties- Apply knowledge of transactional flow and key transactional cycles to complete audit work.
- Document, validate, and assess the design and operating effectiveness of the client’s internal control system.
- Identify and communicate suggested improvements to internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Supervise and review the work of audit staff.
- Communicate financial statement disclosure requirements to clients.
- Draft complex financial statements with disclosures.
- Recognize and apply new pronouncements to client situations.
- Identify and discuss complex accounting issues with superiors and clients.
- Coach less experienced team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
- Master’s degree in Accountancy (preferred).
- Two or more years of experience in auditing asset managers or relevant fund vehicles (required).
- One or more years of supervisory experience (preferred).
- CPA license or actively pursuing (preferred or required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
