Position: (USA) Vision Center Manager NL 1

Overview

Position Summary… What you'll do… Drives sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, in-stock and inventory levels, budgeting and forecasting, sales analysis, and assessment of economic trends and community needs. Models and enforces customer/member service approaches and guides Associates to ensure customer/member needs, complaints, and issues are resolved within Company guidelines and standards.

Oversees community outreach programs and encourages Associates to serve as good members of the community. Ensures compliance with Company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for the Vision Center by analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, and directing safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews. Develops action plans to improve performance and provides direction on executing Company programs and strategic initiatives, including confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for Associates in the Vision Center by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing contributions, and promoting a sense of belonging in the workplace. Ensures provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating Members/Customers, selecting products based on Member/Customer needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidentiality, performing minor frame repairs, and maintaining optical equipment. Upholds the Company Open Door Policy by meeting with Associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing policies and procedures, and suggesting resolutions for Associates.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying goals and objectives, building accountability, and measuring progress in achieving results. Promotes continuous learning, adaptability, and improvement opportunities, and demonstrates leadership in evaluating and addressing opportunities to enhance performance and outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise Vision Center operations, including merchandising, pricing accuracy, signing, inventory levels, budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis.
  • Model and guide customer/member service approaches to ensure issue resolution within Company guidelines and standards.
  • Coordinate community outreach and encourage associate involvement in the community.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and asset protection strategies; conduct safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews; implement action plans to improve performance.
  • Direct and develop Vision Center Associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing performance, and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Consult with Members/Customers to educate on eyewear options, obtain measurements, verify prescriptions, protect confidential information, perform minor repairs, and maintain optical equipment.
  • Uphold the Open Door Policy by addressing concerns, reviewing policies, and proposing resolutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align plans with customer and business needs, communicate goals, and track progress and results.
  • Promote continuous learning and adaptability; support Company programs and strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience including 1 year’s optical experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.
