Drives Field Engineer; Marine

Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Power Field Engineer to join the marine service team of a top Energy company. The person in this role will travel offshore to commission customized drive solutions, maintain, and fault find propulsion, drilling drive, and pumping systems for offshore and marine specific clients. The Field Engineer will work on company specific equipment such as switchgears, transformers, thruster controls, automation systems and VFDs, specifically GH180 models.

The person in this role must be comfortable with travel as they will go onsite to visit clients at a moment's notice all throughout the globe. The person in this role will work on related marine/drilling/fiber systems (automation and power).

• Travel offshore to commission customized drive solutions and service propulsion, drilling drive, and pumping systems for offshore and marine clients.
• Maintain and fault find on equipment including switchgears, transformers, thruster controls, automation systems and VFDs (GH180 models).
• Work on related marine, drilling, and fiber systems (automation and power).
• Interact with clients on-site around the world and adapt to a flexible travel schedule.

• 5-10 years of experience as a field engineer servicing clients within the marine, energy, oil or gas industry
• Background within power distribution & generation
• Hands on experience with VFDs, specifically GH180s
• Background in Drive / Motor System Solution Design or Service/Commissioning
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Offshore or Marine experience
• Experience programming PLCs, S7 preferred
