Are you passionate about human space exploration, understanding the origins of the universe, and working with a diverse team to make a difference? If you are, we need you! This temporary internship will last approximately 14 weeks (May 18 – August 14, 2026) and requires relocation to Houston, TX for on‑site work at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
Responsibilities- Work with geoscientists and computer scientists to analyze features of the lunar surface.
- Assist in developing workflows for processing and georeferencing lunar satellite imagery.
- Work with a variety of lunar datasets to assess crater and boulder distributions.
- Currently pursuing a BS in Geology, GIS, Geography, or Astronomy.
- MS in Geology, GIS, Geography, or Astronomy.

- 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), when applicable.

The position is primarily office based but may involve indoor or outdoor work depending on task.
Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and MachinesStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
AttendanceRegular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements is required.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
