Wharton-Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Field Engineer to work in the Water/Wastewater Division on a project in the Houston, TX area. The successful candidate will be responsible for successful completion of field tasks as assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Foreman with structure layout
- Field purchase orders
- Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction.
- Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
- Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
- Maintain as-built drawings.
- Collect and assemble O&M material.
- Perform subcontract scope analysis.
- Assist with purchasing and expediting.
- Meeting minutes and distribution.
- Scheduling.
Requirements:
- Surveying/layout, technical writing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
