As a Calibration Lab Engineer
, you will be trusted with developing, modifying, implementing and maintaining the calibration/metrology program and assisting with the selection of new Measuring & Test Equipment and resolving of calibration/accuracy related issues with existing M&TE at Houston, TX
.
- Update and improve the calibration/metrology program based on the latest technologies, methodologies, research, etc.
- Collaborates with R&D, engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure calibration/metrology standards and policies are in place.
- Devise and implement methods and procedures for the calibration of M&TE (electronic, electro-mechanical, dimensional, pressure, optical, laser, etc.).
- Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms, processes and equipment for the purpose of calibrating M&TE.
- Actively troubleshoot and correct issues with calibration processes and equipment
- Support stake holders with the evaluation of and correction of issues being experienced related to M&TE including related to accuracy, tolerances, measuring ranges and conditions, etc.
- Extensive knowledge level and specific Alcon/industry/field product experience.
- Act as a Calibration/Metrology SME for Corporate standards and projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience

EXPERIENCE:
- Recognized SME of calibration/metrology principles and methodologies related to electrical, mechanical, optical, laser and pressure M&TE.
- Knowledgeable in the use and requirements for M&TE used in the design, manufacture, testing, and repair of optical/ocular/ophthalmological medical devices.
