DutiesAnd Responsibilities Technical Drafting & Design
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, schematics, layouts, and revisions using CAD software.
- Interpret redlines, engineering markups, specifications, and design calculations.
- Develop plan, section, elevation, and detail drawings with minimal supervision.
- Perform drawing updates based on field changes and as‑built documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company drafting standards and industry codes.
- Coordinate with engineers and project managers to resolve design discrepancies.
- Support multi‑discipline projects and integrate cross‑functional design elements.
- Participate in project kickoff and design review meetings.
- Manage assigned drafting tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain organized drawing files and version control.
- Assist in preparing drawing packages for client submittals and permit approvals.
- Communicate proactively regarding workload, timelines, and design issues.
- Perform self‑checks and peer reviews of drawings.
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Apply established drafting standards and contribute to continuous improvement of templates and workflows.
- Provide guidance and technical support to Drafter I team members.
- Share best practices and drafting techniques.
- Support training initiatives and onboarding of new drafting staff.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of drafting experience in engineering, construction, or industrial environments.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, civil, or structural drafting.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, Solid Works, Inventor).
- Experience in utility, industrial, EPC, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD platforms).
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, symbols, and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of electrical and/or civil drafting standards and practices.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time management abilities.
- Willingness to learn and grow in either civil/structural or electrical/protection & control disciplines
