WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: As a Structural Technician, you will support project teams by performing advanced drafting and modeling work using AutoCAD and Revit. Under the guidance of an Engineer and/or Project Manager, you'll help produce high-quality structural construction documents while following Dunaway's drafting standards and coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.

Once selected to join our team, you will:
  • Perform advanced drafting and computer-aided production tasks using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Develop accurate structural construction documents in accordance with company standards
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Project Managers, and project teams to ensure drawings align with project requirements and consultant coordination
  • Assist with layout of structural plans using architectural backgrounds with guidance from senior staff
  • Support the development and maintenance of AutoCAD standards to improve workflow efficiency
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies in consultant drawings
  • Optimize layouts of foundation and framing elements and incorporate minor design elements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and Revit)
  • Familiarity with structural drafting standards and best practices
  • Working knowledge of structural engineering principles and design standards
  • Ability to interpret high-level redlines
  • Experience using automation tools to improve drafting efficiency
  • Ability to independently produce plans containing the majority of foundation and framing elements
  • Knowledge of labeling basic connections using standard callouts
  • Ability to create custom details for common design situations
  • Strong understanding of coordination between disciplines

  • Ability to manage workload and communicate deadline risks proactively
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience
  • Experience in structural drafting
  • Experience working with architectural backgrounds
  • Experience creating detailed construction documents
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software tools
EDUCATION:
  • Associate's degree or technical school certification in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design
