Our company is looking for an innovative Civil Engineer to join our client's Site Development team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating engineering and construction plans for a variety of development projects based on their calculations and any research conducted. This person should have experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D
, H&H and be able to utilize strong design skills.

Position Intro:
  • The position is for a Site Development Engineer, focused on commercial, K-12, healthcare, retail, and multifamily projects.
  • The role requires someone who can be 'plug and play'—able to take on projects with minimal training and hit the ground running.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in site development (not land development), be able to work in CAD, and help mentor junior team members.
  • There is an expectation for the candidate to eventually take on a leadership or management role as the team grows.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
  • Producing private/public site work & civil engineering construction plans, reports, and studies for various projects.
  • Overseeing daily operations and deliverables that may be necessary for the projects.
  • Achieve project objectives by managing CAD Designers and junior team members.
  • Manage client needs, project scopes, budgets, support personnel, and schedule.
  • Management of consultants for design efforts outside of those handled by the client.
  • Review and summarize environmental, geotechnical, traffic, and other essential reports for design implementation.
  • Attend meetings with clients and consultants to understand project needs and issues, as well as present proposed solutions and design approaches.
  • Construction administration management for submittals, RFI’s, and site visits with direct Contractor communication and field problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comply and enforce QA/QC procedures for every phase of the project.
  • Business development activities and assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience for site development civil engineering projects.
  • Texas PE Required.
  • Experience with local jurisdictional governments related to design criteria and permitting (City of Houston, Harris County, TxDOT, Ft Bend County, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in regard to project calls and correspondence.
Must Have Skills :
  • Strong experience in site development (not land development).
  • Experience with commercial, K-12, healthcare, retail, or multifamily projects.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal training.
  • Proficiency in CAD.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred (Texas PE ideal), but strong EITs close to licensure may be considered.
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers or CAD designers.
  • Familiarity with City of Houston and Harris County codes and permitting processes.
  • Willingness to assist in other areas (e.g., roadway, traffic) as business needs shift.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, growing company environment.
Certifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
  • EITs close to obtaining their PE may be considered if they are otherwise a strong fit.
