The Project Management Intern will support project management and engineering activities, assisting in the successful execution of multiple projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking to build foundational skills in project engineering and project coordination. This internship is a part-time, paid position (20 hours per week) with a maximum duration of 90 days.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing project activities from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure project goals are met.
- Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project proposals.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during project execution.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and vendors, to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Help ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in site visits to monitor progress, verify quality standards, and identify risks or issues.
- Assist in managing a portfolio of projects in various stages of execution.
- Document project information using MS Excel and other record-keeping platforms.
- Prepare Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals using established templates.
- Assist in preparing project binders and closeout documentation.
- Support the development of automated project management tools for time and cost tracking.
- Assist in preparing packing slips for project freight documentation.
- Support efforts to ensure all project deliverables meet scope, quality, and timeline requirements.
- Monitor and track project progress, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Participate in post-project evaluations to identify-project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools.
- Recommend and help implement best practices to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Pursuing or recently completed bachelor's degree in mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Construction Engineering (or related field).
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand basic calculations such as price schedule breakdowns.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced-paced environment.
- Climate controlled office environment
