Job Description

• Top level Civil designer, with 5+ years of experience
• Performs non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions and under minimal supervision; considerable CADD skills are required to visualize and portray complex design features
• May determine drawing sequence and presentation
• Design of grading/drainage, water/wastewater systems, stormwater detention facilities
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D AutoCAD Civil 3D, grading, alignments, profiles, corridors, earthwork, and experience with pipe networks, detention, storm sewer design
• Has working knowledge of land development engineering criteria and understands agency requirements and approval process
• Works closely with Project Managers; may recommend minor design changes requiring sound judgment and discretion and perform simple design calculations
• Reviews work performed by CAD Technicians I and II before submitting to Project Engineer
• May guide or be assisted by other technicians
• Understanding of local and state agency codes and ordinances relevant to the construction plan approval
• Prepare cost and quantity estimates

Job Requirements

• Prior professional computer drafting experience
• Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D is a must
• Should have working knowledge of CAD manual drafting techniques and CAD standards
• Knowledge of construction plan preparation for land and /or site development projects
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Works well in a team oriented environment
