Job Description
Results Statement:
The Geologist will support the project manager, staff engineers, laboratory manager, or other staff as directed to assure client satisfaction following the applicable standards, specifications and company guidelines.
Ongoing Work:
- Perform field logging for geotechnical site investigation in various geologic bedrock formations across the State of Texas.
- Train geotechnical field technicians on characterizing bedrock samples obtained in various geological formations.
- Access and analyze project site geological formations using geological maps prior to site investigations and advice the project team.
- Perform laboratory tests.
- Document the work performed as appropriate.
- Provide support to Project Manager, Staff Engineers and/or Laboratory Manager as needed.
- Perform duties in a safe, cheerful, efficient and workman like manner.
- Get cross trained on laboratory testing.
- Possess Bachelors in Geology or minimum of 2 years of experience in bedrock characterization in various geologic formations.
- Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples as a routine part of the job.
- Ability to tolerate year-round outdoor work
- Valid Texas Driver's License with no history of accidents or alcohol/drug related traffic offenses
- Willingness to travel and work out of town about 95 percent of time in a month when needed and ability to work over the weekends if needed.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs required
