Computer Aided Design (CAD) Administrator manages an organization's Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and systems to ensure their functionality, security, and adherence to standards. These software programs include but are not limited to AutoCAD, CADWorx and Blue Beam. Key responsibilities include installation, configuration, and maintenance of CAD software and hardware, providing technical support and training to users, managing user access, overseeing data integrity, and implementing and enforcing design standards and libraries.

POSITION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES System Management:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining the latest versions AutoCAD, CADWorx and Blue Beam software, hardware, and associated servers.

User Support:
Providing technical assistance to CAD drafters and designers, troubleshooting problems, and conducting training sessions.

Data & Standards:
Developing and implementing standards for drawings that align with our current drawing file management system, Meridian ensuring data integrity, and managing version control and archiving.

System Upgrades & Optimization:
Coordinating software updates, testing new versions, and implementing system optimizations for improved productivity and efficiency.

License & Security Management:
Overseeing CAD software licenses, managing user accounts, and ensuring system security and proper data backups. These programs include AutoCAD, CADWorx and Blue Beam.

Integration:
Working with IT and engineering teams to integrate CAD systems with other design and engineering tools.

Project Management:
Leading or participating in CAD-related projects, evaluating user feedback, and recommending system modifications.

Managing CADWorx Specifications:
Maintaining existing specifications, generation of new specification and revisions to specifications as required by our engineering/drafting team.

Managing Smart P&:
Providing support to Engineering and Drafting on Smart P& as well as maintaining Microsoft Access database
POSITION REQUIRED SKILLS Technical Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CADWorx and Blue Beam), operating systems, and database management.

Technical Support:
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and resolve technical requests efficiently.

Organizational

Skills:

Excellent skills in managing and organizing design data, standards, and user access.

Communication & Training:
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and develop and deliver effective user training.

Analytical & Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical skills to evaluate system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions.

Industry-Specific Knowledge:
Understanding engineering concepts and the technical standards relevant to the organization's industry. (Natural Gas, CO2, Liquid Terminals, Products Pipelines)
Meridian Document Control Knowledge:

Experience with Meridian document management software is a plus.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATION

Experience:

A minimum of 10 to 15 years' experience required for this position with associate degree in drafting or equal. A Minimum of 15-20 Years experience required for this position without associate degree in drafting or equal.

Certifications & Training: (Applicants without these certifications are still encouraged to apply) Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in AutoCAD for Design and Drafting or equal.

POSITION WORKING CONDITION Office cubicle

Ability to sit or stand for long periods.

Position may require lift of up to 25lbs.

Some travel to other offices may be required.

Work Schedule:

5-8's schedule (8 hours per day, 5 days a week)
Work in office Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (Currently)
Work remotely Thursday & Friday (Currently)

* The position will be filled as an Ops Analyst, with level determined by the successful candidate's experience and job skills.
