Clayton Services is searching for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas. The Civil/Structural Engineer will be responsible for leading and delivering civil and structural engineering projects ranging from small developments to complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure and structural systems.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $100,000- $130,000 per year

- Lead, review and assist in the preparation of design concepts, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing of concrete, steel, and timber structures.
- Analyze static and dynamic loading on laterally performing structures including the impact of soil-structure interaction and designing foundations for waterfront structures.
- Develop finite element models of marine structures using structural analysis software to simulate the behavior of complex waterfront structures under various loading conditions and optimize their design for structural efficiency and performance.
- Ability to monitor project progress, set deadlines, solve technical issues so that scopes of work are fulfilled and contracted deliverables are submitted on schedule and within budget.
- Actively assists in writing technical reports and manuals as needed.
- Participate in site inspections of waterfront infrastructure such as marine structures, marinas, ports, etc.
- Understands and maintains proficiency with State, Federal, and local agency design standards and criteria, practices, and policies.
- Perform design checks as part of the quality metrics and best practices.
- Providing technical support during the construction phase of waterfront projects, including reviewing submittals, shop drawings, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and conducting site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
- Experience in AutoCAD and assist in preparing design drawings.
- Ability to interface with other affected disciplines.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required by project demands
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required;
Master's degree preferred - Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas required
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience working in a collaborative engineering environment
- Experience supporting or working on federal projects and meeting applicable federal requirements
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a TWIC card preferred
